Known issues with 2018 Utah Climate data CokevilleUT: weighing precip gauge not working 7/17 to 8/12. HuntingtonUT: this station’s precip gauge gets contaminated with irrigated water. Precip gauge spikes thought to be contamination have been removed using the precip record from OrangevilleUT (~ 12km to the south). 4 non-concurrent precip events were removed, leaving HuntingtonUT’s annual precip nearly 50mm below OrangevilleUT. DuscesneUT: this station’s precip occasionally gets contaminated with irrigated water. DuchesneUT record was validated using data from the nearby NRCS SCAN Little Red Fox station (approximately 5 km east of DuchesneUT). LoaUT: solar radiation from 7/7 to 8/2 seems low however I do not see evidence that these data are grossly wrong. The station was checked 7/26 when the pyranometer measurement was 5.6% below the check sensor. Pyranometer was replaced with a new one that measured 1.7% below the check pyranometer. VernalUT: data missing from 3/23 to 3/27. We think the station experienced an electrical surge that locked up both dataloggers.
